The selection procedure for Post Code 10 (Management Trainee) will comprise (i) Preliminary Test (written); (ii) Main Test (written); (iii) Group discussion / Personality Test; (iv) Computer Proficiency Test and (v) Interview. The question papers for the preliminary and main examinations will be bilingual (Hindi/English), except for the Test of English and the Descriptive Paper (Main Test).

JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) was originally ‘The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam’ at the time of its establishment in 1946. It is now a sprawling campus of 110 acres, green with mango trees in the fast developing Port city of Kakinada, East coast of peninsula India. Kakinada has a rich political literacy and cultural heritage passed on through generations This college became a constituent of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University w.e.f 02-10-1972 through an act of legislature along with other sister institutions under the control of the then Director of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, it was affiliated to Andhra University. In the year 2003 the college has become autonomous.
The College is governed by the rules and guidelines provided by the university from time to time. The Principal is the administrative and the academic Head of the College. He is assisted by the Vice-Principal and the College Academic Committee in academic matters and the Deputy Registrar and the office staff in administrative matters. The day-to-day activities of the college are carried out by budgetary allocation from the University fund.

The Government College of Technology, Coimbatore formerly known as the Arthur Hope College of Technology, was started in July 1945 in accordance with the general policy of the then Government of Madras to give high priority to technical education under the post-war reconstruction schemes in order to meet the demand for trained engineers for various industrial and development projects in the State and the rest of India. The offer of the premises including offices and portions of the workshop and Hostel of the National Electric Works free of rent for a period of three years together with a donation of Rs. 2,00,000 by the well-known industrialist and philanthropist of Coimbatore the Late G.D. Naidu, enabled the college to be started in July 1945. The College was afterwards shifted to the present permanent site of about 45 hectares on the Thadagam Road in June 1950. The College was then renamed Government College of Technology and was affiliated to the University of Madras in 1951.Though initially only Civil and Electrical Engineering branches were offered the Mechanical Engineering branch was introduced in the year 1952.

The written test will consist of an Objective and descriptive test.
Written Test – Objective & Descriptive
i) Objective Tests – Medium of Examination : English OR Hindi
Note: Candidates have to secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective test i.e. 40% for General Category (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD) and 50% average marks in all the objective tests taken together for General Category (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD). The Bank reserves the right to vary above said cut-off. In Objective Test there will be Negative Marks for wrong answers @ 0.25 for each wrong answer.
ii) Descriptive Test – Medium of Examination : English OR Hindi

Interview Marks : Maximum marks for interview will be 100. Minimum qualifying marks in interview are 50% for General Category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category.
Selection Procedure : Depending on the number of vacancies, only those candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying marks stipulated for Written Tests (Objective plus Descriptive) and rank sufficiently high in the order of merit shall be called for a Personal interview in the ratio of 1:3. – Mere pass in the Written Tests shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for Personal Interview.
Merit list of the candidates based on the marks obtained by them in Written Test [i.e. 300 Marks (Objective Test) + 100 Marks (Descriptive Test)] and Personal Interview of 100 Marks will be prepared in descending order on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained, under the respective SC / ST / OBC / GEN Category. The final selection will be made on the basis of this merit list.
Note: In case of similar marks to two or more candidates the merit order of such group of candidates will be as per their aggregate written test marks and further as per their date of birth (i.e. more senior in age will be placed first before less senior in age)

Preparation
1.1 Study from Study Notes of the Institute for all subjects supplemented by other books recommended by your faculty. Study Notes are must.
1.2 Make brief notes of the matter you feel relevant but you are likely to forget. You may also make notes by the side of text book you are referring to, in respective pages. The notes should be very brief, say at an average of 10 words per page.
1.3 Make a plan of the time available and the syllabus to be covered. Based on this, make a schedule with daily/weekly breakups giving details of the topics to be completed. Make achievable and practical schedules to avoid breaking the schedules.
1.4 Monitor the schedule on a weekly basis and reinforce your efforts to make up the backlog, if any.
1.5 Ensure two revisions before you appear for the examination. In other words, a minimum of three readings should have been completed by the time you appear for the examination.
1.6 Study the question papers of previous examinations to be able to categories all the topics in each subject and understand broad trends of these categories.
1.7 Based on above and marks allotted give weightage to each category and accordingly prepare for the examination, spending more time and effort for important topics However, do not overemphasis the trends. They may go wrong.
1.8 In the case of theory subjects, focus on understanding the concepts thoroughly and its application. In subjects such as law, give due regard to case laws and sections.In subjects such as Economics, spend some effort on statistics and general reading of business newspapers and news magazines.
1.9 In the case of numerical subjects, such as accountancy, costing and mathematics, focus on understanding the methods, formulae and format of presenting the solution. Solve as many problems as you can. Prepare for these subjects from the beginning of the year/ session and on a continuous basis. The rule of two revisions (plus the first) is particularly applicable to these subjects. Refer to a number of text books for these subjects so that you can encounter a wide variety of problems and approaches to solution.
1.10 Practice use of your calculator effectively to maximise its efficiency in the examination Hall. Remember speed is a crucial requirement.
1.11 Write simulated examinations with some of your friends setting the paper and valuing them, in an examination environment with set time schedules.
1.12 Try joint studies with a couple of friends to be able to help one another, and instill competitive spirit.
1.13 Prepare for the worst in the examination to minimise probability of failing in the examination.
